Rune Sanbeck joined Dimensional's European operations as head of Institutional Sales and Marketing EMEA in July 2010. Rune was previously a managing director at BlackRock where he worked as head of the Nordic region for the Institutional Business, iShares, and Retail. He was also a member of the European Leadership Group.
Rune started his career with McKinsey & Co. in 1996, where he primarily worked in the Financial Industry Group Practice, working with financial institutions in Northern Europe and South Africa. In 1999, Rune moved on to the newly established SEB Asset Management as a partner and as a global head of institutional clients. Later he joined Danske Capital, where he became head of clients and held several board positions. In 2006, he moved to London to work for Barclays Global Investors (now BlackRock) and was appointed managing director in 2008. In 2008, Rune was also listed as one of the finance world's top 100 Rising Stars by Financial News magazine.
Rune holds an MSc in economics from the University of Copenhagen, and a CFA and EDP from Wharton Business School. Rune has also completed a one-year program at UCLA where he studied courses in the PhD in Economics Program and finance classes at the Anderson School of Management.
