Steve Garth, PhD, brings many years of experience as a portfolio manager in Australian and international equities. He also has specific responsibility for managing Dimensional's Australian fixed interest strategies. In conjunction with his investment responsibilities, Steve has a key external role in helping to communicate Dimensional's investment processes to institutional and advisor clients. In this role, he is aided by not only his perspective as a portfolio manager, but his experience in leading Dimensional's Asia Pacific trading team.

Before joining Dimensional's Sydney office in 2001 as a portfolio manager in international equities and fixed income, Steve was on the faculty at the University of New South Wales. His teaching and research interests there were in optical fiber technology and quantitative finance.

Steve received his PhD in applied mathematics from the Australian National University in 1987. He also holds a BSc in mathematics and physics, a BA in history and politics, and a master's in applied finance. As well, he has a graduate diploma in business administration.
