Walid A. Shinnawi brings an accomplished track record of over two decades of investment experience, leadership expertise, and strategic global client relationship management to his role as a vice president in the Institutional Services group, where his focus is on sales/business development and client service. Walid formulated a marketing strategy and executes it by developing sales opportunities for new institutional clients through presentations, conversations, and research. He positions the organization for growth by analyzing the market, identifying new opportunities, creating new business channels, providing critical market feedback, looking for creative solutions to meet specific clientsâ¬" needs, and establishing strategic alliances and long-term partnerships with clients.
Prior to joining Dimensional in 2006, he led a global sales team, as a senior director for Moody's KMV, advising top financial institutions around the world on state-of-the-art credit portfolio management and investment strategy. He was previously chief credit officer for Barclays Global Investors, vice president and director of Research for First Interstate Bankâ¬"s Investment Management Division, and assistant vice president/research analyst for Security Pacific Bankâ¬"s Investment Group.
A CFA Charterholder since 1992, Walid earned an MBA in finance from the University of California, Riverside in 1983, and a B.S. in respiratory therapy/pre-medicine from Loma Linda University in 1981.
